Promoting wise use of our natural resources.

The members of the New Hampshire Trappers Association, being duly grateful for the rich legacy of wildlife bequeathed by our predecessors, shall save and faithfully defend from waste the natural resources of the State of New Hampshire.

Protecting people & places.

Our board and members actively work with the NH Fish & Game Department, agricultural landowners, and the general public to address and assist with nuisance wildlife conflict, and actively seek to conserve our natural resources and green-space habitat.

Policy Advocacy.

The NHTA promotes regulated trapping in the State of New Hampshire consistent with the NH Fish and Game Department's management plans and laws, as they exist. We actively advocate for sound conservation, legislation, and administrative procedures that support sustainable trapping practices and the ethos of true wildlife management policy.

“We manage our land in a way that enhances wildlife. That includes managing their populations. I believe that will always need to be done and that trapping and hunting are the most ethical and humane ways. I have read volumes about the ethics and morality of trapping. I have resolved this question for myself on an intellectual and spiritual basis. As long as our wildlife biologists believe that they need trapping as a management tool, I will continue to trap.”

— Jack Yazinski, NHTA President (2013-2015)
